GIS Applications Sought for Award
The NYS GIS Association is running a new award program this year – the GIS Applications Award. Writing up an application should not take more than 30 minutes!
We are not looking for extended documentation, and the applications do not need to be brand new ones. We encourage the submission of oldies but goodies as long as they are still in use.
Your GIS application can be anything from improving a workflow using out-of-the-box tools to a detailed web application for data viewing or collecting. It might be used by any number of people, from a single individual to an entire enterprise. So an application is not just something you download or code you install, it’s the use of geospatial technology that matters.
All nominations must be made using the official submission form. You can also find more guidance there on the program and preparing a submission. All nominators will receive a small token of appreciation from the Association for participating.
IMPORTANT: If you would like some help getting your submission put down in writing, the Awards Committee members are available to assist you. Don’t hesitate to contact the Committee Chair Ben Houston or any one of the members of the committee with questions or for help with the form.
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday September 15, 2015.
