Dear Potential Employer,

My name is Stuart Goodman. I am a Senior at Farmingdale State College and am majoring in Science, Technology, and Society with a concentration in Global Affairs and a Minor in Geography. I am looking for an Internship position with your organization. My long-term goal is to go into the Geographic Information Systems field after I finish my college studies. I am really passionate about GIS as I really love cartography and mapping data. In fact, I love them so much that I can stare at them all day long. I also like to add different types of data on maps and create my own maps for the General Public. My experience in this field is that I took a GIS class last semester in School with Professor Dave Genaway. He is the GIS Manager for the Town of Huntington (his Primary Job).  I really enjoyed it his class and what I learned in it. The outcome that I gained from this class is a lot of real-world experience, including an extra credit project in which I helped him Georeference Tax Maps for his Primary job. My results ended up with getting an A in that class, I believe, due to my Passion for GIS and the hard work in that subject. I am really looking to get an Internship at your company in the hope I can learn more about GIS and gain field experience to help prepare me for a career in GIS.

Thank you for your regards and cooperation.

I am looking forward to being in contact.

(Resume Attached)

Sincerely,

Stuart Goodman
