Authoritative GIS data and tools should be easy to discover, understand and available for use by all. The ShareGIS Team has embarked on an initiative to build the ShareGIS environment in answer to the need for a statewide GIS Platform. ShareGIS will provide an enterprise GIS platform which will empower its users with both GIS data services and geoprocessing services through the ShareGIS service catalog.
Initially, ShareGIS will provide the GIS services needed by the new NY Responds initiative. Over the coming months, the ShareGIS service catalog will be built and populated with many useful data and geoprocessing services.
