The responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to: Design and develop architecture, test, and complete technical documentation for smartphone, tablet, and web-based GIS applications utilizing an ESRI platform and SQL database. Utilize programming and scripting languages in the development of new GIS applications, including but not limited to Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, C#, and Python. Plan, develop, maintain and support local government GIS and Mobile applications for the enterprise level delivered via the web, internet, and/or intranet.  Develop, maintain and support user tools for field data collection on smartphones and tablets, and provide ongoing support and updates.  Develop, maintain and support methods for users to view summary/analysis data online.  Create and maintain Internet applications for constituent communication and interactions with Town departments such as constituent smartphone apps for incident reporting.  Create and support web services to build web mapping applications.  Use geo-processing and editing tools to analyze, edit, import, and export data.  Write code to deliver and maintain customize mapping and mobile applications and develop automated processes to migrate external data into the enterprise databases. Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for project requirements, processes, workflows and application development. Develop and implement training for GIS and field end users.  Prepare documentation and user guides. Provide GIS technical support for departments and the public.  Analyze data and produce custom reports. Write SQL queries and scripts. Create and edit spatial data. Analyze data an create maps.

Minimum Qualifications must include a Bachelor’s degree in geography or cartography and 2 years’ experience in computer-aided drafting, computer-aided design, computer-aided map drafting, or with a GIS System.

The annual salary ranges between $44,000 and $63,000 depending on experience.
