Do you want to sharpen your GIS skills?  Why don’t you take one or two online GIS courses in the summer?  If you have a bachelor’s degree and are interested in taking undergraduate or graduate courses at Stony Brook University, without working toward a degree or certificate, you can take the online courses as a Non-matriculated Graduate Student (GSP).  Please see this site for more information about the non-matriculated graduate student.

 

Stony Brook University offers the following ONLINE GIS courses in the summer:

GSS 309 GIS and Cartography (3 credits, 6 weeks, 5/31-7/9)

GSS 313/314 GIS Design and Application I (4 credits, 8 weeks, 5/31-7/23)

GSS 325 GIS Design and Application II (3 credits, 6 weeks, 7/11-8/20)

*GSS 509 Digital Cartography (3 credits, 6 weeks, 5/31-7/9)

*GSS 513 GIS Fundamentals I (3 credits, 8 weeks, 5/31-7/23)

*GSS 525 GIS Fundamentals II (3 credits, 6 weeks, 7/11-8/20)

* denotes graduate courses.

 

Because the seats are limited (20 seats per each course), please enroll early.

If you take graduate GIS courses as the non-matriculated graduate student, the maximum six credits can be counted toward the Advanced Graduate Certificate Program in Geospatial Science if you are admitted later to the program.
